Palpitations Music Release

Starting off 2023, I wanted to finally start making a few tracks. I have always been interested in music, despite not having any experience actually producing anything. What got the ball rolling again was my newfound fascination with early 90s UK Party music, especially Jungle, Hardscore and Garage.

With DnB already being one of my favorite genres of music, Jungle really resonated with me. The syncopated beats, classic breakbeats, and all the technological relevance of oldschool samplers and computers drove me to finally give music a shot again. After starting a few experiments with Tracker Software (OpenMPT, Milkytracker) I liked the aproach a lot, but wanted more conventional DAW Features. Renoise 3 is just that, a modern DAW with a main Tracker interace. I consumed all tutorials and documentation I could find on it and began making tracks!

Additionally I used the VST Instruments “Synth1” and “Helm”, both Open Source as the main synth elements. Drums used were mainly classic breakbeats from various old corners of the musically inclined internet. For individual samples, simply check the downloadable project files on the release page.

The result is now finally out. Three tracks of admittedly amateurish quality, which taught me a lot in the process of production. A rather melancolic sound with many distortion and lofi effects and samples from various old movies and documentaries (Which I always love in classic tracks).
